The code name is always displayed in panic and crash logs. For example, a kernel panic on my MacBook would display MacBookAir10,1. Or do you mean you find the code name itself funny?

Most "old-school" x86 TPM-less PCs can't really be trusted in the same way as a patched, up-to-date iPhone though.

> All 1:1 chats are in fact group chats, containing multiple “users” for all your devices Wow, that’s a really interesting way to see it I hadn’t heard before. It works remarkably well, too.

No, the book is riddled with issues. This is far from the only one. Have a read through https://guzey.com/books/why-we-sleep/ .

I don't believe it's legal to host public VPN exit nodes in Saudi Arabia, so it might be someone from there.

No, not at all, given training_data is in the hundreds of gigabytes, and this search would need to be run on every single token (for in-flight temperature adjustment).

Yeah but you can outlaw specific uses of it. Not saying I agree with it but crypto can definitely be made illegal.

If we assume Google to backdoor Chrome, the whole IP protection talk is irrelevant. They could backdoor it without needing that.

Is this really true? Many aspects of analogue design are still relevant imo. Actual IC design (VLSI etc) is still a purely analogue field and all digital technology is fundamentally analogue at its core.

I suppose the fact that it's LOS reduces the power requirements. There's really no way around it: they specifically stress that the UE is unmodified.

Looks like they killed cameras with built-in lenses. Cameras with interchangeable lesnes, which would've been used by the pros, have kept their market share identical if not grown a bit.

At least on Apple devices, the passkey implementation requires re-authenticating using biometrics to use a passkey. Even if the device is unlocked.

I agree with you. The only thing I can find is that the author alludes to the fact passkey auth relies "completely on device authentication security which for many users is extremely weak" ... but you need physical access to the d

Sadly, I feel it has already started to devalue art. I find myself unironically wondering whether some pieces are AI-generated on my feed. When I can't tell, I mentally devalue the image. I'm becoming more and more redpilled on th

Reading about advances in AI art is always bittersweet. Generative text-to-image systems have come very far in the past 2 years. Impressively so. Frankly, I am in awe at the (cherrypicked!) outputs on this page. Years on, it's still a

Okay, since we’re being pedantic, I still think you’re wrong. Mb/s is equivalent to Mbps. It would have been different if I wrote MB/s (all caps) MB/s = megabytes per second Mb/s = Mbps = megabits per second. See also

Anecdata taken. How did I mix up megabits and megabytes? I mentioned a 5 gb file transferring at the same speeds takes a minute or so. That tracks with your 30 gb:5 minute calculation.
