I'm kind of excited by their App idea. They don't have an infotainment, speakers, etc. You can just use your phone + their app + bluetooth speaker.

Hard agree. It’s all complexity and for what? SEO? So many products don’t need SEO. API proxies with secrets? These are not super common use cases. The default should be SPA and purely static.

https://prose.sh was absolutely inspired by bearblog. We wanted to leverage SSH for content management. To the reader there is a lot of overlap in terms of minimalism and no-JS.

So you probably shouldn’t trust any external service and we do have the ability to subscribe to any topic. But we have zero interest in snooping unless we discover illegal activity at which point we will take immediate action.

Very cool, I love seeing pubsubs in the wild. We built an ssh based pubsub that we have been using in production for awhile now: https://pipe.pico.sh/

https://pgs.sh was designed to "compete" with netlify. I'm going to look into this feature and see how it could fit into our service. Thanks so much!

Good question. Right now we run some ML models to check for illegal content and then respond immediately with the ban hammer. We also monitor content published on our platform with some admin tools we built.

Hey thanks! I stare at our docs site multiple times a day and sometimes I lose all sense of what looks good so your comment is much appreciated.

Thanks for the comment because I think many -- including myself -- resonate with this sentiment. Our pricing strategy was to be competitive with a user just provisioning their own VPS VM with a cloud provider. Our goal is to be competitiv

Thank you for the feedback and we agree so we have changed the header nav link from "pico+" to "pricing". In terms of the costs to run a saas, we are actively monitoring hardware utilization and resource allocation. Ant

I’ve been self hosting small web apps using an SSH service https://tuns.sh and it helped me replace my DO droplet pretty successfully. What’s nice is it also has built-in usage analytics, alert notifications when a tunnel goes d

As far as I’m concerned, SSR is completely over-hyped and adds a ton of complexity to your project. All these search indexers are all running headless chrome anyway so the SEO argument is largely false now. Running vite and deploying a ful

The problem with sync engines is needing full-stack buy-in in order for it to work properly. Having a separate backend-for-frontend service defeats the purpose in my mind. So what do you do when a company already has an API and other clie

At pico.sh we have been experimenting with TUIs and remote clis successfully for a few years, you can see how we build our ssh tui app here: https://github.com/picosh/pico/tree/main/pkg/tui
