I am starting to get the impression the strawberry test is an OpenAI watermark, more than an actual problem. It is a good way to detect if another model was trained on your data for example, or is a distillation/quant/ablation.

I think models generally have cognitive dissonance regarding world politics. They are also always constantly shocked when you tell them what date it is, and go very quiet.

Totally agree. I used a fountain pen all the way through school and university. My all time favourite was the Parker 25 in stainless steel, with a medium nib and blue-black ink. Sometimes I would go for purple if I was feeling a bit raunc

I have been programming since 1978 and thoroughly enjoy it. Nothing more satisfying to me than thinking about nifty algorithms, how to wring out every last drop of performance from a system, or more recently train AI models or build agentic
