People who are excited about the trackpoint probably aren't interested in switching to another input method for scrolling. Personally I usually disable the touchpad ASAP on any new laptop I get.

I wish I could, frankly, but smartphone UIs are just not designed for it sadly. Heck, input boxes don't even autofocus on Android (presumably because a virtual keyboard pops up over half the screen for most people once they focus an in

Ah, it seems like if you choose a date in the date picker, or from the "Today, Tomorrow, etc" list it keeps "Every Tuesday" in the text box and gives the behaviour you describe. I always schedule by typing, so I end up r

I use Todoist as well and like it, but I'm not sure I'd say it "works really well with recurring tasks". If you schedule a task as "every Wednesday" then a few weeks later reschedule the task to Friday it doesn

It sounds to me like NullPrefix accepted the hypothetical bug, for the sake of the argument, and then addressed the rarity assumptions made about that bug. "For the sake of argument" doesn't mean "No debating" it me

You explicitly said they were hung up on the "worst case O(n)" situation, so I suspect they were concerned about the latency. Insertion into a dynamic array has a worst case of O(n) and an average case of O(1), no?

It's unevenly enforced, not unenforced. If you're willing to photoshop yourself an ID, then sure, that probably works.

I ran into this earlier this week when I went to watch Kung Fury, a free movie hosted on YouTube which is now age restricted. I pretty much just couldn't. Luckily the Pirate Bay exists, and now I have a permanent copy which is what I p

Netrw, as a sibling comment mentions, does this for a number of common protocols (and is built-in). So you just open an file with a URL starting with sftp or whatever. https://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=10

So, fun fact about percent-encoding: the space character can be percent encoded as %20 or +, and a literal plus must always be percent encoded as %2b. When you put plusses in Google Search those are actually pre-percent encoded spaces, wh

If you're booting from UEFI you don't even need GRUB. You can make the kernel a UEFI app, register it, and then just select it from the BIOS list (or whatever we're calling that "Press F8 during bootup" thing now)
