Well, there are a few exceptions. I did. The tiny amount I use my cellphone I can't really justify a data plan.

Well, also you can't get another notice within 28 days. And if I recall correctly, you have to get three notices within 9 months. So basically if you manage to spend less than 1/3rd of your time "On Notice" you should be sweet as. DISCLAIME

I feel like the academic qualifications (Bachelors, Masters, PhD, etc) and programming shippable applications are two separate hierarchies. So I'm surprised he didn't know SQL after developing .NET for years, but not that surprised he had a

Thanks for taking the time to explain my comment. I would've gotten to it eventually, but you've done a better job than I would've anyway, so it all works out. :) EDIT: And just so we're on the same page... This is for recovering the plain-

But you're giving them a plain-text password. It doesn't need to actually crack it. This[0] was mentioned elsewhere in the thread. It's a good approximation of what I meant. I realise putting "crack" in air-quotes probably didn't quite conv

Yeah, I'm pretty sure those are both in every password dictionary ever... This site would be much better if it took the time to "crack" the password you submitted.

Vim is usually fairly efficient in what it makes you type, just not always as consistent as I'd like.

Dude. He's right. Vim is clunky, I'll admit it, but it is a text-manipulation language separate from vim script. Vim-the-language looks like this: ci)char* arg<ESC>/func<CR>V}:s/param/arg/g<CR>

In fairness, elisp is pretty weird. Doesn't it still use dynamic scope? :P Sincerely, the guy who writes stuff like execute a:method . resolve(expand('%:p:h') . "/" . tolower(a:entry) . ".ext") (Yes, vimscript is insane, too)

One of the bigger tragedies of piracy, in my opinion, is that people get hung up on the pirates and work to reduce piracy, not increase their customer-base. I feel like, especially in this case, the number of people who might buy the game b

I'm still using firefox because of pentadactyl. It lets you switch to a tab by substring search of title/url. If you have 100 tabs open (I often do too) how do you switch to a specific tab with mouse gestures? (Genuinely curious; seems a sh

Honestly, Python 2.x's dynamic typing doesn't make the experience of floating-point/integer maths much better. The value of 3 / x changing depending on whether I pass 2 or 2.0 is the trade-off of the Python approach, and I honestly don't kn

Interesting. I prefer the "programming as magick" metaphor, and would say I have a playful mood regarding programming, but I still like static typing. Having said that, I love higher-order functions and macros as well. Defining it as a cont
