You're asking good questions, but it's unreasonable to expect one paper to answer all of them. Probably the article should have emphasized more strongly that mouse models are imperfect, but they do show efficacy in two different m

I would be very curious to hear about the state of your codebase a year from now. My impression was that LLMs are not yet robust enough to produce quality, maintainable code when let loose like this. But it sounds like you are already havin

Fair. No benchmark is perfect. I do pay special attention to what the most negative comments say (which in this case are unusually positive). And people discussing performance on their own personal benchmarks.

Actually thinking a bit more, this doesn't prove anything. The ad was showing on many fridges, and apparently it said 'Carol' everywhere (it wasn't actually personalized).

Yes it was made up. A post from two weeks earlier [1] showed a fridge ad saying 'We're sorry we upset you, Carol.' That post now has an update: > EDIT 2: Hello, I am the original poster of the carol AD image from a month

LLMs can count other objects, so it's not like they're too dumb to count. So a possible model for what's going on is that the circuitry responsible for low-level image recognition has priors baked in that cause it to report u

It's not obvious to me whether we should count these errors as failures of intelligence or failures of perception. There's at least a loose analogy to optical illusion, which can fool humans quite consistently. Now you might say t

The typical example people use to illustrate that energy isn't conserved is that photons get red-shifted and lose energy in an expanding universe. See this excellent Veritasium video [0]. But there's a much more striking example t
