(Googler, opinions are my own) Personally, I think it's because of Google's focus on collaboration at all costs internally, which just isn't possible if everyone is working remote. IMs and Meets can only get you so far, but t

Most Googlers are on vacation today, but I'll dig around to see what I can find. Shoot me an email (in my prof) with your domain. Disclosure: Googler.

Ferdi is essentially a proxy into the browser version of the apps, but this looks like it's built to proxy the connections to matrix, with a native front-end.

Many Enterprises have a want (hesitantly, need) for a social media platform. Walmart for example uses Workplace by Facebook. This is Google's competitor to such solutions, as well as a successor to Google+ for Business. Disclaimer: Goo

Actually quite the opposite, Fuchsia already runs on production devices manufactured by Google. The (ridiculously long named) Google Nest Home Hub and Home Hub Max both can run Zircon and Fuchsia on device, although it's very much for

Following up on amessina1's post, I'm one of the TSEs who handle networking cases. True to what was said, I was hired with very little networking background, but plenty of development and hardware information. I've since take

I mean, technically, that's what Google's solution ends up doing. Their DCs are globally distributed, so their timings on when they'd actually be doing the heavy lifting is shuffled around.

I get that it's not supposed to be a technical blog post, but some details would've been nice. What platform are they using? Major Cloud Providers? How'd they solve load balancing? HA-Proxy? Nginx? What tuning had been done?

The bigger issue is that there's a lot of customers where they have split cloud deployments, which means the customers hurt even if they are stable within the clouds themselves.

Heyo Googler here. The problem was a mix between another cloud provider and GCP. Dare I say, there should be little customer impact as of 13:37 PST..... The status dashboard is going to be your best idea on information.

In all reality, your Enterprise should own the domain externally. What happens if one day a configuration flag is flipped and you're no longer resolving internally the domain? If you have a problem with Cloudflare, go setup your own, i

Your setup will still work. Firefox is configured with a "fallback" situation, where anything that doesn't resolve on the public resolver will be queried again using your system-configured DNS options. As for Pi-hole, my reco

Firefox by default is configured with a fallback option, where if resolution would fail, it will fallback to the system-provided DNS servers. So your internal TLDs are safe. Additionally, if you've setup Firefox to be installed with Fi

Correct. In order to preserve compatibility, Firefox's implementation has a "fallback" where if it sees that it can't resolve a domain, then it will fail back to using the system-configured DNS provider.

For existing configurations, it makes it a bit trickier to implement. If you ad the aforementioned rules to your DNS and/or IP block list, then Firefox will default back to using the system configured DNS. But DoH is not targeting ad-b
