If one makes a habit of participating in RMS threads and giving thoughtful feedback, I'm sure the karma threshold would take care of itself. Good idea.

We've recently engaged Software Promotions (SoftwarePromotions.com), who were recommended to us by Patrick (patio11). Just getting started with them, but so far we've been really impressed.

But now that Firefox, Safari, and all the cool kids have pretty much standardized full-page-zoom instead of page-layout-zoom, I guess the IE team is being stubborn about moving to the new way of doing things. FYI, IE invented full page zo

I don't think it matters legally, but practically, they'll probably go after whoever owns the domain (or whoever looks like the biggest target). What's legal doesn't really matter though, as $105 is far cheaper than any lawsuit - even one y

No. Think of it like this: if your dog bites someone today, keeping the dog on a leash in the future won't help you now.

Of course, my point was that 99.9% is expected on even the cheapest setups. Premium hosting like Heroku should at least be able to deliver comparable uptime to a cheap shared host like HostGator. However, Heroku appears to have no SLA, so i

They're referring to the fact that Flash is the only way to record audio from the user's mic at this time. The spec linked by the grandparent outlines an HTML5 API for accessing the microphone. Flash is also the only way to record video fro

#3 seems particularly pedantic. I thought pg's argument was pretty clear: Angel investing is like betting on long shots. You're arguing with the bookie over whether the odds should be 95-to-1 or 100-to-1, when you should be worrying about w

FWIW, there's a bunch of similar Android tablets at DealExtreme. I can't speak to the quality, and I assume its not good, but you can get a 7" tablet with Android 2.1 for $160. http://www.dealextreme.com/search.dx/search.android%20tablet..

Does Heroku have an SLA? (I could not find it) At some point they're exposing themselves to serious risk. Rackspace had to pay out ~$3MM (in free service credits) after an outage in 2009: http://www.networkworld.com/news/2009/070609-racksp

What about pairing the auth token with a browser fingerprint? [1] It would make it harder to troll an open network for random victims, and wouldn't annoy the user. [1] Perhaps a hash based on something like this https://panopticlick.eff.or

Check historio.us, the ssl cert there is a free one (which is, sadly, why subdomains don't validate). AFAIK this is common to all certs (free or otherwise). You need a separate one for each subdomain (including www).

Dropbox.com was also acquired right after they got a ton of funding, which could also partially explain the exponential growth. (Not arguing with you, just pointing it out).
