For instance, Germany could import on windless winter days, and export on windy summer days.

This is a common talking point, but it really doesn't mean much in terms of the reliability of electric systems. If you import a lot and export a lot, that doesn't mean both countries could be autonomous, it may mean your country

Your mistake is trying to find logic in something Douglas Adams wrote. It makes no sense for alien spaceships to carry conkers. That's the joke, a small dig at people believing the local stuff they're used to is universal.

Yes, Rama probably isn’t semantically comparable to one single monad. I was talking about the do notation as a way to sugar the syntax of cps monadic operations into a flat, imperative syntax. This is exactly what Rama is doing. If you look

That's because CPS is the callback hell. Promises are a mechanism that was devised to separate the composition mechanism and the function itself, much like shell pipes exist to separate the control flow from the called function. In t

I see no issue with this org being nominated. Their advocacy seems to be right and useful. Good for them. On the other hand, reading the declaration, it's pretty clear that this nomination does not exist to celebrate good news. That is

I have no issue with this laureate, but it is sad that the comittee could not find someone deserving that is working on a more current conflict. I guess this is not a positive outlook for the current state international conflicts.

It's definitely possible some people do wrong stuff. I wouldn't trust people not to mess things up badly sometimes. But if you intend to criticize the whole discipline, you can't base your analysis only its failures.

The crux of the question is "how people find internet resources". And the answer is that, generally, ad-driven companies have no interest in showing their users this kind of stuff, and have taken over pretty much every entrypoint.
