CI driven development results in so many shitty commits, though, and it's so slow. I find it very miserable. Pre-commit hooks should be much, much faster than most CI jobs; they should collectively run in less than a second if possible

There's a fine-tune of Qwen3 4B called "Jan Nano" that I started playing with yesterday, which is basically just fine-tuned to be more inclined to look things up via web searches than to answer them "off the dome".

Indeed, it doesn't work. LLMs can't count. They have no need of how many words they've used. If you ask an LLM to track how many words or tokens it has used in a conversation, it will roleplay such counting with totally bulls

It depends on the model, probably, but there are multiple layers of censorship, one of which is the post-facto nuking these models will do online, and that goes away "for free" when you download the open weight model. I don't

Maybe you skipped over the word "some" in your reading of my comment, or there's other ambiguity in the scope of a subordinate clause that you interpreted uncharitably, but I don't actually assert (or assume) that all or

It's kind of amusing to me how some PC gamers act superior to console gamers because PC gamers run their games on a flexible, customizable, general-purpose machine that the user controls rather than an appliance... and then immediately

I've heard good things about how macOS handles memory relative to other operating systems. But Linux and Windows both have memory compression nowadays. So the claim is then not that memory compression makes your RAM twice as effective,
