I saw a talk at FOSDEM where a developer who worked at Booking said something along the lines of - Big company bought lots of different hotel sites - Big company decided to consolidate them into one system - Booking (the Perl shop) won out

I'd rather they make the code more robust to make crashes unlikely enough that they can actually debug and fix them when they occur, rather than going multi-process as a band aid to make recovery easier on a user That said, it is easy

In Perl a hash is any scalar value blessed into a class In modern Perl the attibutes would be accessed through accessors so the original example needs tr/{}/()/

He talks about how lisps are bootstrapped on a small core, and that is nice. Reminded me that this is the approach that Perl 6 is trying to take (NQP is the core) although on a larger and more complicated language
