The only time I've seen it used like this before is semi-sarcastically in instant-messages. In this context it looks like a mistake.

A couple years ago I was draining my MacBook's (non-Pro) battery daily and it still had most of its capacity (you could squeeze out six hours at minimal consumption) at the end of the year. It might not have been the same model as you, but

As a personal exercise, I've been working on a basic math engine of my own recently. It's not very difficult to break problems down into computer-friendly steps, but if you approach them that way it's another challenge to choose the steps y

You explain how the situation is asymmetrical, which would mean the grandparent wouldn't be happy with it. There's no conflict here; I think we understand the impracticality of the suggestion.

Personally, a virus scanner is the last thing I'd want on a mobile device. I haven't used one since I stopping using Windows several years ago, and it's not something I'd like to return to, especially on a platform where power consumption i

Large companies have patents for multitudes of ideas that they don't actually implement. Getting worked up over patent filings like this is a waste of energy, since it's rare that anything comes of it.

I think a large part of the justification for a moon base is that it could be used as a location from which to stage further space missions. If you construct a rocket on the moon you've got no atmosphere and a fraction of the gravity to dea
