Why does USB have two seemingly unrelated versioning schemes? There's USB 1, 2, 3 and now 4 as well as Type A, B and C. This mess looks like manufacturers wanted to create a way to trick the average customer into buying the wrong cable

Which databases are good for analytics from your point of view? In my experience, being able to do advanced ad-hoc SQL queries is priceless for analytics. Timescale helps in scaling time series use-cases that used to scale badly in plain Po

Wouldn't it make more sense to show an example that actually takes advantage of async/await? I don't get why they are using examples that need a disclaimer like you can run 100 jobs for this to make sense. So it should includ

You could even replace every command I run with a malware version simply by altering the $PATH in ~/.bashrc. If you manage to replace, say, apt-get with a malware version, you'll get admin permissions every time I run `sudo apt-ge

People who are new to a topic and just learned a new thing often do a better job at explaining things without requiring prior knowledge. Experts in a topic often see things as trivial and write introductions that exclude a fraction of poten

The same is true for free-spacing mode and comments, which can improve the readability of regular expressions a lot: https://www.regular-expressions.info/freespacing.html

The "+" only saves you a few keystrokes. Using "*" is also fine and not wrong, but a little more error prone, so I would note to better use "+" in a peer review.

Yes, Google also has a better index and more experience in building a search engine. I'm just arguing why DDG cannot be as good as Google, when you expect personalized results. E.g. when you are a programmer and get results for Swift t

I've no idea about Safari's reader mode, but you can have a look how the readability feature in Firefox works: https://github.com/mozilla/readability I'd expect the Safari feature to work quite similar.

I often think that maybe in a 1000 years or so, archeologists will find evidence that almost every household had a copy of Harry Potter or something similar and will conclude that this was a widespread religion at the time.
