No, the parens don't constitute a barrier of any kind, really. Reading lisp fluently requires very consistent indentation, though. Then you see where an expr starts and where it ends (with nestings and all) without counting any parens

Mainly because I'm a sucker for Amazon, and the other Amazon warehouses in EU area didn't support English to my knowledge. I'm glad if they do. There's also been the possibility to hack with GBP/EUR rates.

Thanks for heads-up. Sounds like I must try it out the next time I need something from there!

Shame if this happens (Amazon.co.uk has been good; Amazon.de doesn't speak English), but UK must do what they think what's good for them. Doing customs declarations in Finland has turned into a hassle since the convenience of EU t

Sounds excellent. In essence, this course doesn't teach you photographing but rather, how to maximise what you get out of a digital photograph. Definitely taking it, such a short course anyway. I wonder if the actual photographying is

You can register your family to a McD account and your kids below 12 get free meal coupons for birthdays. Someone I know maintains 4 imaginary kids to his family account and collects 4 free meals a year. :)

Interesting, I haven't ever read about anyone thinking Python 3 is the one that has broken strings. It's always been the Python 2.

Luckily I always pay attention to the URL and I consider myself being pretty safe from all sorts of phishing attacks. There have been quite a few clever ones.

SfB (Lync) is terribly done in terms of the client-server architecture. Messages don't get consistently saved for offline recipients, the issues with several listening clients. For a business communications application, it sure seems a

Our company bought into Office 365 ecosystem and Teams was a natural choice to try. We haven't used Slack or similar tool before. Well, Teams allows discussions, but at least in November its built-in Skype for Business (SfB) client wor

TextPattern was my favourite back when, even if it featured very awkward ideas (all content, styles, maintenance goes through their web interface to database -- good luck with unix tools to compare, diff and patch changes). These days stati

Luckily Slack isn't that big a deal abroad. For instance, we didn't jump into that wagon since it cost money. We tried MS Teams, I was able to argument our people off of it.

With an 's#\n#<br/>#g' substitution you now have to choose between readable source text (lines < 80 characters) and responsive rendered HTML (lines don't break until boundaries).

For one thing I could publish plain markdown as a nerdy blog page and not worry about them 60-character lines break on mobile. I like the look of well formed plain text but it never works elsewhere other than big screens.

It may be awkward but it's no use to ruin a perfect system for just one usecase. For what it's worth, zsh provides a capable renamer tool called zmv. An example: zmv -W '*.txt' '*.markdown' And of cour

I just tried out the new version. While I suspect the older ones also had the options there but now I confirmed that the demosaic controls in DT are as good as in RT.

Glad to hear. Naturally Lightroom doesn't fit my Linux workhorse very well but it has the best workflow. Nice to hear it has improved -- many attributed Fujifilm's poor image detail to how ACP made the conversions early on.

Perhaps the best of both worlds -- spacemacs from the get-go? Personally I don't like these Emacs distributions so I might recommend the way I did my journey: first vim for years, then emacs+evil. You'll learn the bare emacs basic

I agree with you - Lightroom is the sizzle. But if you happen to convert Fujifilm RAF files on a regular basis, then there are image quality issues with ACP that might make the switchover decision easier for you.

The pixel readout is frankly poor on both apps: false color here and there. Probably both apps use the same library behind the scenes. On RT I can crank up the demosaic algorithms to reduce the effect. DT has no similar filter available. DT

RT has more controls for finetuning (some of which is very necessary for Fujifilm RAF files still) while DT has never crashed on me. CLUT support is nice, I play with it when I happen to develop from raw data. I should probably participate
