I agree with everything you said, if you say "changes the purpose" rather than "destroys the purpose" - change/destruction being a value judgment, but a characterization I would make. I think the author would agree

That is a big problem but is orthogonal to the problem the author is discussing, which is "how do I get pages made for things that my community and I care about, but no-one else does?"
