Yes you are definitely onto something! Love to see more people talking about deterministic games. My game is strictly deterministic, so I get bot movement for free - but the player has agency so I need to capture their deviations That’s the

Heh, this grid image is all too familiar to me right now. I’m building a grid based game and engine, and I have a game replay format which is not video. I hit a massive wall with compression, trying to compress unit pathing and was trying t

I’m not on pc so can’t inspect it, but make it a sandboxes iframe so it can’t interact with the parent site. Is there a way to throttle iframe cpu usage ? You could probably queue messages, cull old messages, cap concurrent connections. Tha

Yeah. I also don’t like the fact the dev posts the link and doesn’t interact with anyone here at all, so the link posting is effectively spray and pray abandonware too. Easy come easy go like they say

Ideas are worth absolutely nothing And just thinking of an idea doesn’t mean it will be useful, it helps to have some industry insight otherwise you’re just slinging shit at the wall and seeing what sticks

No? Especially not in my case where it’s a share artefact that is intended to be shared with others on various platforms. Having my game aesthetic + slur on a sharing artefact is a great way for people to think my game encourages that crap

Moderation moderation moderation . It’s a big problem I have similar moderation concerns in my browser game/engine but I only ban offensive slurs not swears, but I give no visual affordance that the word is not allowed The only surface

That’s awesome. I took this a bit further a few years ago making a url only notepad quine that as you add data to it, creates itself. that can be saved as a bookmarklet. Have to watch the gif to understand https://github.com/

No stress just was curious about the approach, I hope the launch goes well it looks like a great product I don’t usually do testimonials personally I don’t think people actually read them, plus it’s not like you’d ever show bad ones haha

Yes this is a key insight, and fortunately something I realised very early on in my JavaScript game engine which had a custom PRNG - but effectively for part of my game engine (stateful replays) every time I change my codebase and release&#

Nice looking game! From a fellow word game creator :) I hope you get to dedicate more time to it. How much does it cost to a month to run currently?

Congratulations on releasing a game! It’s beautiful, looks like a mix of voxel art games and sim city When I get time I want to buy it and play it :) Do you work on it full time or do you have a day job too?
