I just had my second child and I refused to give him the Hep-B shot on the first day of his life. The acting pediatrician (not his) asked if I was going to do it "in-office" the following week and I said no. She became visually

The models are always wrong. It's virtually impossible to model something with an impossible amount of unknown inputs. Even accurately measuring the Earth over time is a joke. Unfortunately the models are presented in pop science an

This is what killed IBM PowerPC in the ML market. Tried to get in with a faster CPU with NVLink embedded hoping that would win market share. But what won wasn't a faster machine or better architecture. A platform with more developers

Even better was the BeBox running BeOS. That was a cool use of a fast dual CPU PowerPC platform with great graphics. Amiga vibes. But turns out that humans need software applications more than they need efficient use of the hardware.

Just wait until the Guardian finds out about all the ADHD diagnostic centers, tutors, therapy mills and drugs. Some might say there is a giant money printing industry of nonsense around ADHD.

It has been this way a long time. I interviewed and got a job offer with the Naval Research Lab in the late 1990's. It was a very cool job working on chips for space defense systems and I was told they could match any private offer a

In the late ‘90’s I used to brag about my Linux uptime being over a year. And that was a system was directly exposed to the internet. I can’t imagine how many unknown security holes it had during that time.

Correct. 7% decline is a pause. If it drops 13% it will pause for another 15 minutes. If it drops 20% it will end trading for the day.
