I’m sorry if my comment offended you. The goal of my comment was not to put the blame on China but rather share a real life story of a close relative and correlate his experience with the current state of real estate in Canada (Toronto spec

I have family in Toronto and I concur that the primary cause of the rise in real estate prices is China. My cousin is an established IP attorney who earns a pretty good salary and this is directly from him...he was looking to move last year

You put in-place a loss mitigation strategy. This strategy will vary by application. In my case, I have a similar setup where we write 25-30k records to SQLite daily. We start each day fresh with a new SQLite db file (named yyyy-mm-dd.db) a

Your comment clearly illustrates that you have no working knowledge of Clickhouse or parquet file format or data archiving capabilities available in 2021. It's OK! I was in the same boat until I needed to implement such a solution for

This is an overly complex solution that we were able to resolve using a simple VPS running Clickhouse as backend and Grafana for frontend. Our production db is an Aurora MySQL instance and we keep it lean by performing daily dumps of report

For daylight savings, the offset is generated in real-time in our app at the time of transaction and then stored inside the db...so if 2x TXs occurred in CST at 1:58am (1 before and 1 after DST went into effect at 2am) they would both show

We store 8 million transactions a day in UTC...customer time zone is merely an integer offset stored alongside...simple and easy, what’s wrong with that?

I don’t know about Rails specifically but I was able to create my own custom asset pipeline for Roda framework using the latest version of Snowpack. I’m assuming it would be no different for Deno.
