Why must the standard of discourse always be "I'm right and you're wrong?" It seems to me that more often than not in this technological day and age, the situation is much closer to "I'm right and you're also right, and between our two posi

He's a pundit, but he's really close with all of the influential developers in the community. He's more in tune with the Apple community than perhaps any one other person, and his track record of being right is unmatched in the last several

Visual nitpicks: your title tag says "SmokeSignal" while the rest of your site uses "Smoke Signal"; and "all others click here" should probably be "all others sign up to be notified" or something. You can probably also safely reduce the num

I work at a startup in San Francisco and I'm "that developer who wears a tie every day". The traditional adage is that when you dress for success, people take you more seriously. I'd like to believe that this particular industry is beyond t

There's a threshold, just because of the cost involved. In general, if a startup is big enough to be able to afford it, they'd gladly sponsor you. A previous company I worked at sponsored somebody after their second round of funding.

This is the airplane of 40 years in the future? Compare this to the past 40 years: in 1970, we had... the Boeing 737 and 747. They're still making them today. Sure, there have been evolutionary enhancements. But that doesn't inspire a lot o
