If different microservices running different versions of their dependencies and being developed in different repos are seen as problems, what would you say the advantages of microservices are, since you say that "microservices are grea

Great article! Very clear. Nice examples. I have some complaints about how Firefox handles these features, though. Closing modal dialogs with the escape key doesn't seem to work, even though it's described in the docs on MDN [0].

Sendmail was installed by default on FreeBSD until last week, though. So it's true that it's no longer relevant if you're on FreeBSD 14 (which replaces it with the Dragonfly Mail Agent), but it's quite a recent change.

Is this a fork of Bazaar? The docs have a Canonical copyright notice and the Administrator's Guide starts with "Welcome to the Bazaar Version Control System’s guide".

The recent FreeBSD 14 release apparently failed to build for one of the platforms because a file "somehow ended up being full of NUL bytes" [0]. I wonder if that's due to this bug? (Could be just a coincidence, of course.) Op

If you think of it not as a "rename" (which would belong in the edge object if it existed) but rather as a "note: the file A in this tree was known as B in the parent tree" it would make perfect sense to store it in the

As you say, tooling can solve the problem. But with ES modules and modulepreload, we can now (contrary to what the post argues) also solve it without the tooling, which is an improvement. Yes, all but the simplest applications currently use

The post dismisses native browser support (a huge benefit of ES modules) as "an utterly useless feature" that's "unavoidably slow" because of the additional roundtrips needed as the dependency tree is traversed. But

You could run Docker in a Linux VM, which is what Docker Desktop does anyway. FreeBSD has Bhyve for this.

What's the advantage of running Bhyve within a jail? The userspace process is sandboxed with Capsicum[0], which should provide similar security benefits, shouldn't it? Is it just that you already have a jail and need to add Bhyve

Which problems are those? One problem I usually have with GUI builders is that they generate huge and messy data files for the layout which can't be meaningfully diffed. Visual Basic is even worse because the form files are binary blob

What about when the output of the lossy codec is passed through another lossy codec, e.g. MP3 through AAC over Bluetooth? I would expect better results (from the second codec) when starting from a pristine lossless source.
