Regarding the water acting as a sponge of energy, that phenomenon is reversed compared to the pressure cooker, but the analogy should not be taken further. When comparing with isobaric(constant pressure) freezing the paper mentions that it

Between Detroit and Bratislava there is not doubt about where I would live. Bratislava is a very beautiful city. Detroit from what I heard has vast swaths of urban area completely abandoned or squatted. I would be surprised if Bratislava al

Yes if they can charge a premium, and keep product loyalty. Given they are targeting fleet reliability and up-time i can see it happening.

What would be the legality of this, given mere possession is illegal in many jurisdictions? The only way i see this positively, is as a kind of methadone for pedophiles, where they can wean their habits without further harming more children

Indeed, the only difference is that you might be using less optimal system calls, but there is no reason to be blocked and not target ancient kernels. I linked to 2.6 this year and everything ran fine.

Very shallow article. Tl;dr: none. I would say that the mythical man month concept has stayed and still is talked about today even though the book itself is also hopelessly outdated except maybe in IBM style enterprise software.
