Do they actually compare the picture on the driver's license to your face or do they only scan the barcode? In some cases the barcode is on the backside. I've many times seen that they don't even look at the side of the card

The matrix developers are experienced IM developers. They've built systems on XMPP and custom protocols before. Their estimate was that because of matrix being federated, every feature was 5-10x harder to implement than in centralized
