HackU will be the most missed part of my job. It was a great 25%, it was the other 75% of my job that needed work :) I'm heading to Facebook as an astute reader gleaned. Although, I don't know what I'll do there yet ;)

Doing your own thing / startup isn't all its cracked up to be. 90% of the people I know doing it are chasing money, and I don't want to dedicate my life to that. Too short to just make money, I'd rather enjoy the ride, and love what I do. I

:) thanks. I worked with the HackU event, and those were the first place prized for 2009. One group was only 3 instead of 4, so I stole the last one. When I'm doing the event, I wear it everywhere. Going through airport security with it on,

Just yesterday I ran into this exact problem. In PHP curl_exec returns data in the raw encoding of the source. Fine, some people will want that. But I want to do things with the data, so I want it in UTF8. So, I ended up writing my own curl

Wow, thank you for your feedback. -- OpenID Leave it blank if you want (maybe I should write "optional" somewhere). I didn't want to make a username/password scheme and openid seems like a perfect fit. -- Opera, IE7 I never tested it there.

You mean like... drumroll http://webnumbr.com/webnumbrs.all.json (large, once every hour for about 6 months). Do you really like CSV? If so, vote and i will build it. http://webnumbr.uservoice.com/forums/38506-general/suggestio...

Yeah, i agree about the scraping. The good news is you can edit your numbr (if you registered with an openid) then you can fix your scraping. Also, you can start a new numbr but with the history of an old numbr imported. I don't have that i

I looked at those, and they don't map very well to mime types. To actions and nouns they are great, but not very good for file types. If you can give me a nice mapping of mimetype -> FFF icons I'd love to put them on stdicon.
