i'm often confused by the FOSS and VC mix here. I agree generally FOSS are left leaning, and would suspect VC are more right?

oh agreed -- less harm. And when the government do it, we the people pay tax to enable it. US Taxpayers are paying for these buildings, mega-data centers, and contractors.

I wonder if this stuff is surplus when bought, the M.O. of the military industrial machine seems to be financing a small group of firms for equipment and services we don't need. Just like NSA monitoring data centers and drones.
