Absolutely this. I have a regime of dumbbell exercises plus at least 5x25 pressups spread through the day. In this I'm lucky to work from home - not everyone has the freedom to knock out a set in their office environment. Maintaining c

This appears to be a common story. We ported a bunch of Python 2.7 to Go. The improvements in speed and memory consumption are outstanding. But we will be upgrading a large code-base from 2.7 to 3.x. For things like web data aggregation

The addition of stress is under-represented when talking about working remotely. The more you have going on at home, the worse it is. You have to work out whether the "convenience" pays for the loss of clean separation from family

TXODDS has various pull/push APIs. Betting odds is the focus, but they have more fixture/stats/resulting services under development and can be approached for custom solutions. https://txodds.com/

Tried out the Chrome plugin when RESTClient stopped working in Firefox. It stuck, and now I believe all of my small team uses it. I've been on the stand-alone version since release. I use it for testing, but also more as a diagnostics&

I host at Hetzner and have noticed reduced Fail2ban notifications and shorter Logwatch emails recently. If this has kicked it, I guess that might explain it.

I am very sorry to hear that. I hope you have some positive developments on that front. For what it is worth, here is the Stack Overflow page with two open positions. They say London (where there is a new permanent office) but remote would

Is there a reason you are willing to share for the "without any trips" criterion? I have been working remotely for some six years. My current employer hires mostly remote engineers, and we're always looking out for good peopl

I quite like Go and I'm writing a lot of it these days, but this is one part I really hate. Some of what you gain by its lauded "simplicity", you give back with type system wrestling.

I run my own mail server, use GPG with Enigmail and I'm logged in to Wickr all day. I also use Orbot, Text Secure and Red Phone on my Mobile. The problem that I have is that despite talking up these to my peers, no one uses the secure

This idea definitely has legs for what I do day-to-day. We have a data aggregation framework with hundreds of bots. Due to the fluid nature of maintaining it we use Python. The trade-off for the productivity we require is performance - we u

The discovery process is crawling I suppose, but only within the same site. It is always assured that the higher speed process accesses data that we want to parse. It does no navigation. Aside from having the physical capacity for the suite

I lead a team that works on several hundred bots scraping at high frequency. We also separate the problem of site structure and payload parsing, though slightly differently. We have a low frequency discovery process that delves the site to

I think Cedar is just not affected as badly because it will route > 1 request at a time to a dyno, which helps if you're using something like Unicorn.
