If you really want to help with productivity, just track when each user logs on/off (or idles), and make a forced x minute window between logins. I don't want to be penalized if I visit the site every few days and it happens to be offline w

I've been researching netbooks lately. Most netbooks have a native resolution of 1024x600. Not only are 10.2" screens less "obsolete," (yet have a lower PPI) they are generally preferred by consumers over the 8.9" screens (both at 1024x600)

Gay culture in CA, especially in San Francisco and West Hollywood, is unparalleled. CA is very liberal in terms of gay rights and civil unions. The tech companies in CA are also very liberal -- both Google and Apple broke their informal pol

I read an article recently saying that Google tested more results per page (i.e. less pagination), and that the increased search/loading time actually made users have a less positive experience.

The best part about the elections is that voters GET an education about the issues by hearing the candidates. The education may be biased or somewhat untruthful, but elections actually let everyone know about the issues facing the country.

I suppose that our main disagreements revolve about the ambiguous definition of "neuroscience," which is nowadays an all-encompassing term which has seemed to broaden to mean "absolutely any work which even mildly studies any aspect of the

I should have clarified further ... by and large, if you apply to a program in "Neuroscience," you are applying to a program in "Neurobiology." For example, MIT has a huge Brain and Cognitive Sciences option, with a beautiful new building d

Well, if you're looking for a textbook: Kandel is the gold standard, but it is quite hefty and technical -- a great slimmer one is "From Neuron to Brain" (advanced undergrad/early grad): http://www.amazon.com/Neuron-Brain-Cellular-Molecul

You're forgetting about Google's employees -- would you want to work for someone who refuses to take a stand on whether you can visit your partner in the hospital? Someone who provides full same-sex couple benefits in name only?
