Oh I loved Konq in the olden days. A single tabbed browser for both file system and web. Loved that thing. khtmlview was also an awesome browser component which I made use of in a few QT projects.

My partner and I did the same thing 10 years ago on $1 per day bicycles. There are numerous large and impressive ruins scattered all over Siem Reap and you get then all to yourself. I really miss travel too.

I've been happy with Xubuntu for the last decade or so. For me, it's the right combination of lightweight and minimal DM, and easy to use package manager. On top of that tmux (via alacritty) and emacs and I'm good to go.
