wolf3d.exe on a floppy -> "This self-extracting zip archive is corrupted!" :P P.S. Now that I typed the file's name (it was really wolf3d.exe), I suddenly feel old... Not to mention the "floppy" bit :)

Bought one a year ago (2.3.3, I think). It's a Wildfire S, very small and lightweight, has a web browser. Can make calls and probably can send short messages. I was using Windows Mobile 2003 before that and thought I was finally on the "ble

Why is this downvoted? It voices an honest concern! Linux has often been compared to living in a house full of carpenters, where your bed might disappear at night while you sleep. If this observation is incorrect, write a comment so the res

Did you read the article? He says "copy it, put your name on it and make millions; I don't care". He even says "put nasty words in my mouth if you want". He's obviously OK with everything you mention.

I'll be doing that when I eventually move to some remote Bulgarian village. There are people that steal there (mostly gypsies), but out of desperation, not because they want to. As I intend to continue working in IT, albeit remotely, I'll b

So no hits in Google? Even if it isn't free, you can buy it and put it up on the Internet for everyone to download.

Agreed, this can be incredibly frustrating! Has never stopped me from playing the game, though... One time I even broke my keyboard (hit <esc> with a fist), but within minutes borrowed another keyboard and started a new champion...

I like games with harsh punishments - my favorite is hardcore mode in Diablo - death is permanent and when you die, you loose MONTHS of work, every item you have on you, every skill and level you have gained, everything. This really gets th

vim is nice, but I'm still struggling to get 100% auto-completion (I'm using jedi-vim and sometimes it doesn't find stuff I'd expect it to) and I have no refactoring ("extract method", "change definition", etc.) or "go to definition". Can y

I'm on Debian (unstable) too, I like it very much! I was commenting on the command line (bash, etc.), after learning PowerShell it just seems so... primitive. It's text-oriented, so you have to parse everything and there is no automatic tab

You might want to re-think the part about the fantastic command-line experience. You can't auto-complete command arguments, even if you get it working for some commands, it won't work with all of them (i.e. 3rd party tools). Of course, you

If that last part is the only thing they can do, I say move to somewhere warm and cheap and just "agree" to their terms ;) I thought they could call InterPol on you or something...

I wanted to say "a language with units of measure wouldn't have allowed this", but in this case it would have ... I guess sometimes even the most restricted tools can't save you :)

Haha this made me laugh :) First the notion that someone would pay to upgrade to Win8, then the price :D Even $40 would have been too much... Apparently they really want everyone switch to Linux.

Bamboo is also very fast-growing, but we don't use it for desktop application development. We use it for making huts, preparing food and treating infections. I guess my point is that growth doesn't matter when it's in another sector.

Linux has always had an app marketplace, it just wasn't called a "marketplace" (when everything is free, the marketplace/store analogy isn't appropriate). At least in Debian and derivatives, everything is a one-click install since '98. How

This makes sense, thank you for the insight :) Wouldn't it have worked as a normal website? Does PhoneGap offer access to native APIs that are not available from web?

I came here to say just that :) Good thing we have set the right expectations in the software industry - everything can be explained by "it's a computer, duh" because users expect everything to be full of bugs anyways :)

PhoneGap is about marketing, not about software. For customers it's difficult to find a specific website, but it's easier to find an app in the app store. The devs are still web guys, but thought they will sell more if it looks like a "real
