It was terse, but the parent's comment was helpful. Wouldn't you want to correct misspellings on your site? Especially in the part where you ask for money?

Really? I'm back and forth on this, and the unlocking usually comes after periods of urgency even if I've moved on to something else. But "urgency" definitely is different than "panic" or "frantic".

Not to be (too) dismissive, but anyone can work a crap job for a summer in college. Have a shit full time job after college (hypothetically: file clerk at a nursing agency in in emeryville) -- that teaches you a different level of life less

It looks nice, but I'm still waiting for someone to figure out how to do multiple columns well online -- I'd like to use more than a 6 inch wide column of my laptop or desktop screen if possible.

The community isn't a given. Some of the stack exchanges that allow more open ended questions are somewhat useless. I'm thinking of the stats one in particular[1]: you get a ton of questions where it is clear that the questioner will be u

Double-check your code for the stalker social networking buttons; they're about mid-screen on my ipad. Even if they were well-positioned they'd be annoying, but as it is they're super annoying.

The books by Howard Wainer, Edward Tufte, and Bill Cleveland are good starting points; it also depends a lot on your particular interests. Andrew Gelman's blog [1] is very good if you're at all interested in non-experimental data and/or po

The basic approach to empirical modeling is pretty labor intensive and ad hoc. It is feasible for small to medium datasets but can't scale to massive datasets -- in particular where there are lots of potential covariates. For those datase
