At this point, I’m planning to move away from Wordpress due to the instability and into a regular wiki based site. Unsure of which at the moment, maybe some suggestions? Prefer static file based rather than host a DB.

“Not turn into a content junkie, churning out slop I wouldn’t want to read myself.” What a beautiful value to have.

Every time this website gets posted I order like $30 worth of office supplies. Dunno why but it’s so tempting.

Can you offer your own login? I’d rather not share access to GitHub.

Yes, rails definitely in a bigger scale. Django within pythons ecosystem. IME fastapi has eroded some of Django’s hold but it’s still chugging along nicely. Hype has certainly died down because it is ancient by today’s standards. Still a ve

That’s what people said about Python before Django. They asked why not use PHP or Perl. But Django came along and established a strong set of patterns that make web dev much easier these days.

I’ve been focusing more and more on rust for my personal projects and I agree with all of these. What im waiting for is the Django equivalent in rust. Dunno if its already here but I’m hoping. The one thing I do enjoy in rust is how you don

I find the process of writing standup comedy to be the purest form of writing and public speaking. There is a constant effort to adjust words around in order to get that extra laugh. How you write something has direct effect on how the joke

Can it be adapted to use ollama? Seems like a good tool to setup locally as a navigation tool.

Seen it with my own eyes. One of the new ones is using multiple expensive LLM queries to do something a little bit of code can do. Amazon must be racking in the bucks with Bedrock.

I fucking love this! Hope some initial tutorials become available. I’ll gladly contribute some but I need a little guide to get started.

I have this bad codebase at work. Really bad. One of the things I’ve been working on for the past two years is making it consistent. I’m almost at the point where interfaces can be left alone and internals rewrites in a consistent style. Pe

You ruined it by pointing it out :-D We need to have people continue the meme by missing the point of nitpicking nitpicked arguments. That’s a special thing here in HN.

Yes, good approach. Do you ever feel like the internet has been turned adversarial? Flame wars are as old as email but not the default.

I’d say programmers are taught to nitpick away at arguments by default. The nature of the code review is to verify that the code I wrote meets certain (opinions) standards. Hence nitpicking is built into the profession. Maybe one day it’ll
