Unless you are running a site that has to convey a strong sense of exclusiveness or security you can usually get away with a logo that is considered ugly by many. Same applies to page layouts as long as the value for the user is there.

You might want to rethink the color choice for the 'next' button as well. In this setting I associate "green" with _like_ and "red" with _dislike_. Maybe a more neutral color choice can avoid possible misunderstandings.
