I wish I was surprised. Automated decision-making with little to no human oversight is the dream of risky bets (policing, insurance, loans, etc).

Why not both? Keep the normal highs and lows we expect from our weather stations and websites, then display the temperature variance in a view that doesn't require you to drill into the app view clicks / drags. I don't see an

Yep, Dark Sky's way is standard. Weather.com and the like show the next low. Today in my area is actually the perfect example, currently ~40f. It shows a high of ~55f and a low of ~53f. Apple's weather app shows a low of ~40f.

Gotcha. Still, it's a lot of RCE's coming out per month to depend on blackbox machine learning for something people use every day for their personal/business needs.

Um, no? Most of the RCE's I'm seeing are at the OS level and would require upgrading to a newer Android OS version that older devices won't have support for.

With a cursory search I found CVE-2021-0316. This one's just for bluetooth, but it's an RCE with no user interaction discovered in 2021. Pixel 2 had its last security patch in November 2020.

The client-side lock of 5 PIN attempts solves the much more common threat model the layman is concerned with.

It's a choice on the user to weaken the encryption. I don't use Bitwarden, but if they communicate that properly to the user, it's a valid compromise for convenience-versus-security.

To clarify for those that jumped straight to the comments; the threat model this article is talking about is extracting the encrypted database stored locally on your machine to brute-force the PIN. Personally, I'd agree with Bitwarden

Yep, and another frustration with Fedora in particular are the defaults for DNF. I don't get why the distro doesn't set `/etc/dnf/dnf.conf` with `max_parallel_downloads=10` and `fastestmirror=True`. sudo dnf update

Nice domain name! It'd be cool to leverage archive.md as well to help bypass pay walls. I tried it on a First Things link and it was only able to grab the first two paragraphs.

At the very least, I can confirm that ProtonMail and Apple's Mail clients let you search through the message contents of encrypted email. I'm sure there's a performance hit, and admins wouldn't be able to search through

You'll also get a lot less suspicious login flags if you regularly use a VPN from a certain area. If you only use it when you're on public WiFi, get ready to prove your identity on most of the services you use.
