It's a lot of little details. Just looking at the pricing pages only for a minute, not because I think the pricing page is the differentiator, but because I think the effort in details DO put there is evidenced across the experience:

DO's UX is a game changer, I personally think is why they have been so successful in what seemed like a crowded market with the "same" business model as the others.

I also wonder why those limits exist more generally, not just for this fund. Maybe those limits affect the timelines on which money is invested and in which it is withdrawn, where-as actually having rules about such things would not work as

Sorry slightly off topic. But I need to know this. wait wait wait ... managing by consensus is .... bad? Where can I learn more about this to build consensus at my office that this is bad (because consensus is how all decisions are made)?

It's shocking to me every time I encounter this. How do those unmotivated people expect to keep their jobs? How do they expect to get the next job, and references for the next job? I'm less surprised by out of touch management onc

Show them that you can get things done faster in the long run by slowing down. The emphasis on speed (getting things done) is always short sighted, and they know that. Help them see it. https://ventrellathing.wordpress.com/2

The closest thing I had to a friend serving, switched from a barely tolerable racist to a fellow who was proud he was protecting our oil interests by shooting hadjis. Difficult to understand how creating enemies abroad is protecting us here

I meant in a figurative manner? I don't understand the difference between figurative and the alternative probably, lol. Is the better a word to accent to use for the accent present in the written word? Aye there chappy this is ye'

I find his accent heavy but tolerable --- but I wanted to clarify, could you (or someone) give an example of a place where it was incomprehensible? (perhaps the place where you had to stop). I'm not asking this in order to try to imply

Atom written in JavaScript makes atom more desirable to me as a JavaScript developer. As a JavaScript developer I can get my head around Go programs. Java hurts my brain, I'm not sure why. I like using programs I can get my head around

What would merging with io.js mean? Is there any reason to use node over io.js for a new project? Are the reasons not to switch to io.js for an old project the same reasons that node will not merge io.js?

I can see the point on being a bottleneck. I'd still argue that's probably a good bottleneck to have though, and certainly better than letting the code quality slip. It depends on the timelines and priorities, but I'd rather

I'd rather have everyone deal with the same. Forced consistency. If some view the code in 4 space mode, and some view it in 2 space mode ---- the style of how they implement stuff will diverge. Those using 2 spaces will be more comfort

4 spaces kill me. 8 spaces drive me nuts. I love spaghetti tho. I hate spaghetti when I can't read it because the code went horizontal into next week.

Left arrow not broken in atom (maybe sublime also?). Left arrow broken less annoying than left/right scroll introduced early, imho. I insist on 2 space tabs. Happy to have longer dialog if desired :)

I think refactor and show them could help them learn. No need to be that pessimistic is all I mean. Pairing would be better. If the employee does not have time to pair, I would still do the refactor and ask the boss how much time they will

Keep doing what you are doing in refactoring and fixing it. Spend hours on it. Tell the person you spent hours on it. Tell them you expect them it will take them longer, but these are the standards you expect of yourself. Ask your boss

Wait --- how do the real live visitors get to your site if not a link? I don't follow how nofollow makes it not a link web ring? No sarcasm, I used webrings in 1996 to great effect. Not for SEO. For real live visitors.

The service they were paying him to build, Karma, is a service for discussing private individuals by name publicly. Fascinating coincidence, no?
