In my opinion, the takeover happened for three reasons: 1. unclear ownership 2. the only official structure being a for-profit, with over 50% owned by a single person 3. lack of transparency The first two are solved by being a non-profit wi

I don't understand how that's possible. When clicking a matrix.to link, there is a room name and a homeserver hostname, right? How does that homeserver not have complete control over what information about the room is sent to the

To switch from Discord to Slack (or between any two protocols), you need to learn how to use the new app, set-up new integrations, rewrite your bots, and hope you did not depend on a feature Slack is missing.

There is OTR: https://otr.cypherpunks.ca/ but as far as I know there is only one implementation, and it's underdocumented. The protocol itself seems well specified, but it doesn't use "standard" primitiv

No, I mean they would draw the selection themselves on the canvas. And they would get the event simply because the user clicked on the canvas.

That's only for iOS and Android apps. (Desktop?) screen readers do not work at all on gallery.flutter.dev, because they can't detect text in a canvas.

This looks like it's targeted at webapp developers who want to use windows within their app. It does make sense for apps with a lot of modals, like an in-browser Gimp clone for example.
