Unfortunately, I will never go along with one of your plans, because I do not trust your ability, or the ability of others who panic about the environment. Bit of a Catch-22 for you there, sorry. It’s just reality.

I don’t trust proof of stake, mostly because loads of people who I consider irrational want it to work so desperately. Proof-of-work actually does work - it is no longer a debate, and these people (many of the same people who were saying

In places more enlightened about gun ownership, self-regulation can just happen at the point of a gun, with no need for the middlemen.

Maybe that first community should have done a better job of regulating itself? All you’re really arguing for here is more engagement in local politics.

Honestly, that’s the hope. Putting together well-solved combinations of computer functionality ought to become less-skilled work as technology progresses.

The bad part about being the ~solo developer is you don’t have as many people around you to learn from. The good part about being the ~solo developer is you learn how to deal with almost all the universal challenges involved in making sof

Which parts have the story you are experiencing? It’s random, isn’t it? I mean at this point you might as well just start arguing that nobody can reason or argue anything.

It works because of the big hand-wave that underpins MWI: Which universe do you end up in? It’s random!

Question: How often have you seen Quanta Magazine write a disclaimer that their latest story is from a school of superstring theorists? It’s PR, this is just how it is. I do wish Sabine would state the axiom “reality is real” up front thoug

I hate to even ask, but for a security-focused product, is that a good thing? I think there is a valid argument “there is no good video experience on web otherwise” but that’s still a long list of less-than-fully-mature dependencies.

I don’t know what your culture claims, but freedom isn’t a privilege, and the only good social contract is a voluntary one. Things are never going to work otherwise in the US.

Well also, in my partly-serious physics trolling I left out that maybe the model could then predict a value for the next in the Higgs family (if such a thing exists), which according to my limited understanding doesn’t seem impossible.

“Long lists of generic hooks” is a symptom of devs not having climbed the difficulty curve a bit further, to where they are writing custom hooks, and using fewer in each component, IMO. It’s understandable to stumble into this difficulty th
