The desktop version runs standalone in a borderless window and includes six color schemes and the ability to close the side bar. My background is in EE, so we designed the linear equation solver to handle complex number (both in polar and

Great Idea. InstaCalc.com has this sort of thing for sharing spreadsheet like calculations.

That's great information. Does Google Analytics break down if they are coming from .edu domains or do I need more powerful analytic tools? Thanks

This is a valid idea - though there are already a ton of calculators on the iPhone store and so we'd be competing against a saturated marketplace. One reason we did this project was the fact that most online calculators have terrible user

We tried creating a calculator store and linking to Amazon, but the conversion is pretty bad there as well. If people are looking for an online calculator they don't real want a handheld... Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, these are all good points. I really want to find a way to keep the online version for free. The advantage of the download (desktop version) is that users can run in a borderless window with six color schemes and the ability to close

My background is on an HP48G, and so I've been a diehard RPN user. However, after spending lots of time designing this calculator, I'm starting to switch over to algebraic mode. Say it's not so....

In my engineering classes, almost all the tests were open book and open notes. The hardest classes only had two problems per exam and the teacher wrote those questions the day of the exam - so cheating wasn't really an option, which would

Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tel

My wish for Adobe AIR (as posted in another article on HN) is to have the availability to distribute AIR apps with the runtime via your own custom installer. If you have a general purpose application (for non-hipsters) it's going to be a p

agree... After watching their screencast I was asking myself those same questions. I don't see them making a dime, but maybe they have some trick cards to play.

I couldn't agree more. I've really wanted to jump on the "air" bandwagon but for the reasons you mentioned it's just too much of a risk. Why can't Adobe offer the developer the option to wrap an air application into a standalone piece of
