I would question the line between government, society, and religion back in that time. I don't think people were secular, with myths and superstitions being an integral part of how people lived (no source here, but I'm pretty sure

ChatGPT is wrong a lot. I love AI, but it still in its early stages. Also, I think we're going back even before the time of all of the current major religions. During those times religion was different, and the line between religion, c

The major religions have had traditions around marriage since antiquity. Arguably it exists today in the form that it does because of religion. Outside of religion, marriage has no real meaning, and to the extent that it is promoted by gove

I would expand this to the curse of the software industry. You spend 10+ years studying and specializing in computer science and technical matters only to have this be underestimated in the industry by structuring the organization such that

For it to be a good interjection and not feel like a dumb AI that is just babbling in the background, it would need to have proper timing, and relevant information that includes a model of the minds of people talking. For example, if two pe

What a ridiculous take. By that measure this is slave trade 3.0, surely farm animals would already be 2.0, or what is the difference here? I would even say dogs are smarter than AI right now, and they are put on a leash and treated like pro

What is there to wait and see? I'm making a judgement on LLMs which is arguably the closest AI has been to an intelligent piece of software.

True, thanks for clarifying. LLMs can certainly be aligned, but not AGI by definition, however LLMs are not AI in the true sense so it makes sense to spend time to align them.

This should be obvious because forcing humans to "align" with other humans is immoral, and if AGI is truly like a human mind, this will also be immoral, which has been captured in many sci-fi stories like "I Robot". The

AGI is a human level machine intelligence. Think about all the sci-fi movies and games with robots that can talk and understand humans perfectly, and whether they are consciousness or not is a separate question. A good example is the Gith f

I don't think the salary difference is completely unjustified. It makes sense companies want to save as much as possible. Constantly being on a job search is not feasible though, at least not if you want to have some time for yourself
