Two things sometimes irk me: How much code there is to write for simple DB interaction + coupling of two different languages (SQL + [programming lang]). In Rails I'd write: Folk.create(:name => some_name, :addr => some_addr, :ci

Hey sayemm, I'm the author of the article, so thanks a bunch for the praise! I have switched to being a professional Rails programmer four months ago and left the last 2.5 years of daily Python programming behind me. This post is more a by-

You did write that blog post? Nice job, man! I skimmed over the rest of the blog and it's got some pretty nice articles on. I especially like the one concerning VIM and Python[1]. 1. http://blog.dispatched.ch/2009/05/24/vim-as-python-ide/

Did the author 'mindlessly spout' TDD to be a panacea or did he write about 'combining best pratices' to become proficient?

Plenty validation can be found in whole communities - anything concerning Ruby for example lives and breathes test or behavior driven development. Btw, Peter Norvig himself has good things to say on TDD[1]. So using him in an argument again

The linked author claims that TDD is not a good approach to develop algorithms by linking to an article by Peter Norvig in which he writes tests to develop and further prove correctness of his algorithm. Maybe he didn't write the tests firs

Where does it say that exactly? It's a public repository and the author is explicitly linking to it while saying that he has no plans of enforcing any licence.

If you put it on Github, you probably should figure it out. I'm not sure what happens if you don't put any explicit licence in there, but I think that it is just public domain right now. Especially if you say that you don't have any licence

This is actually great work! What licence will you apply to the source code?
