My hunch is that talking about your problem can be easier than dealing with it. And people, even capable working homeowners develop a serious expertise in analysing what they should but don't do. I often notice myself doing it.

Isn't that incredible. It's almost "We can't go with you to that place and investigate a crime because a crime might happen!" I'm not from the US and I've only ever had positive interactions with police, b

Doesn't answer your question, but if you're not aware, try watching some of Mark Rober's videos on YouTube with him. There was one recently about trying to safely drop an egg from space. He'd probably enjoy a lot of the

IKEA sells a container set with grater lids and then a sealing lid. We get our kids to grate the cheese (and they fight over the opportunity) and excess cheese is stored in the fridge for the next meal. Or as you probably do, just grate str

Don't you just give it a word length, or number of sentences, or "rewrite, but half that length"? Those sorts of things have worked well for me. "Make it sound more exciting" or "tone down the excitement level&

It's not even just the phone thing. I'm not from the US but have driven 10,000+ miles there in the last few years on various roadtrips. So many American drivers drive with a death wish, like they're invulnerable and are not f

Why not ditch the buses and just start everyone around the same time? In Australia, all levels are starting around 8:45am (3-18yo). There's a bit of flexibility in that a school yard is monitored a bit earlier, or the first session is

What's the rationale for some schools having a bus service and others not? In Australia, I'm not aware of any metropolitan state school having a bus service, so it sounds bizarre that buses would dictate starting times. Some priva

The hypothetical was about a balloon filled with a "potentially" dangerous substance. e.g., something that had a plausible reason to be there and was likely to be fine if not shot down with a missile.
