Donnie Darko opened the month after 9/11, and many theaters refused to show it due to its depiction of a plane crashing. Didn't go positive in the box office likely as a result. Absolutely excellent cult film for anyone interested.

Not quite as bad as pagination, but probably #2 in annoyances.

If a paginated article I visit doesn't have a "View All" button I typically leave. Very rarely are paginated articles so intensely interesting that I suffer through a slideshow.

Also, you can't have fingers on all four arrow keys at once, while you can with hjkl. It's not only more ergonomic in the sense that you move your arm less, but also because you move your fingers less.

I'm thinking it's a ploy to get people to read yet another criticism of Apple's new maps. We get it, they're bad. EDIT: Frankly, I think it's pretty hilarious this article is so long and formal.

I hadn't thought about this, but it's a great point. They certainly have the money to influence politics in many ways, not all of which may be good. While this may be a step forward in the fight against SOPA-style bills, this is a huge step

The problem with your Nintendo analogy is that Nintendo introduced a new market into playing video games (families, non-gamers). A more accurate analogy to Nokia making dumb phones would be if Nintendo had created a console that appealed to

The key word you used is "alpha". As the OP of this thread said, you're not buying a product, you're donating to someone (probably not a very large company with lots of resources) to develop and make something you're interested in, and in r

I think the problem lies in the interviewer in this case. This tool seems to be a substitute for being in an interview room and having a whiteboard to write code on in front of the interviewer, rather than an IDE with a "record-mode". As su

This is a pretty naive view of the universe. Humans have been civilized as we know it for what, 4000, 5000 years? In a little over 100 years we've gone from horse-and-buggy to detecting dark matter and building particle accelerators. The un

This sounds like a great way to approach the problem. While the author's boss might have too narrow of a field of view in technologies, the author shares his/her boss's strategy to use a hammer as his sole tool, regardless of whether he's d

This goes hand-in-hand with people writing lots of code (especially when first starting out) and not reading much. There seems to be a huge lack of people simply reading code to learn from it, rather than poring through dozens of reco
