Linked in the Wikipedia page, found this page [1] with much more information as well as different methods used to transmit images via telegraph lines. Awesome! [1] http://www.jmcvey.net/cable/elements/letters1.htm

It does look great. I’m concerned though, few years ago I used to use rivets [1] for two-way data binding in html. It worked very well. Unfortunately, it’s abandoned. Same fate as coffeescript, backbonejs, etc. Now I primarily use react. Vu

Like others said, pretty rare. However I feel that this year people are buying the Portable AC units a lot more (there’s no stock left for moderately priced portable units on Amazon at the moment). I’ve lived in Delhi most of my life so I c

On Mac, I wrote a config [1] which uses `ddcctl` [2] cli tool to sync both brightness and volume using keyboard buttons. It worked quite well, although I haven’t used it for a while. I guess similar idea could be extended for linux too. [1]

Thank you! That’s all I needed, and of course I’ll contribute back the changes I made to libraries (particularly the Microdot pHAT — which I love by the way — just that the changes are not pretty at the moment...).

I love Pimoroni Modules, having used the MicroDot pHAT, Unicorn boards, Touch pHAT, (and several more). The only problem I have is that the libraries aren’t particularly well written. Of course they’re open source and I would like to improv

That example is quite common within academic context: most of the researchers and professors I know, who have a university homepage, use this. I guess its because they do want legitimate people to reach them easily (students, collaborators

I’m just wondering if it can parse things like « pls-no-spam at google’s email service », which a human can easily parse to pls-no-spam@gmail.com. I suppose POS tagging with some heuristics can get it working for a few cases. And if it can,

Interesting. I have a hunch that this all is an attempt to game Google Summer of Code to win sponsorship. I think the sponsors look for open source contributions, and they created all the copies, organisations etc. to make it seem like sign

Pretty sure it’s the same person from what I could find out from archive.org snapshots. I followed this trail: - From the tweet you linked, it’s clear that they owned yoginth.ml - Archive of the homepage links to a gitlab profile [1] which

I think I get your point. As someone who doesn’t have any particular specialty (I do webdev, “embedded” devices, image processing, tooling, design, etc.), I always hesitate when someone asks me what I do. I consider the things I can do as t

With the current release, you can use a hook, such as `useMemo`, which would memoize the value for the entire lifecycle of your component. I’ve been writing in react for around 3 years now, and never had to use shouldComponentUpdate, but in

Not only that, but Firefox has amazing tooling such as `web-ext` cli, where you can just execute `web-ext sign` and it'll generate the `.xpi` format, run it through automated test, and give you signed versions you can distribute from w

I've found splitting the dataframe, and using multiprocessing module with `apply` to compute chunks of data to be quite efficient. One can use `group_by` method for that, or just slice the dataframe. For example: concurrency = 4
