I wasn't trying to take sides. One set of people were doing their jobs, another person was doing something without thinking about consequences. I don;t hold this opinion in general, for example when someone videotapes police in a city

Absolutely yes, in this case. I'd prefer the officers went home to their families. If you want to go around pointing your phone at everything, you need to stop and think about the consequences.

I like to have the choice. Sometimes my wife and I try to cook something complex for breakfast, and I take the train 1.5 hours later, which also goes about 25 mins slower. I replace my usual book reading with work, so I can leave around the

How the hell does management get work done then? They fired all their devs to bring over these people, then if what you paint is true nothing ever gets done. Is the goal to keep the old stuff running (by not touching it) at a lower price? I

Do you have any engineers that take public transportation every day? My current company has a dedicated team to maintain a developer VM that runs on our Macs, and that has made my life much better. I don't need internet access to write

Palantir might not be "Google for Intelligence", but there is some unfavorable bias on HN against them, so the "Accenture for Intelligence" nickname might stem from wanting to be condescending.

OP Here, I just tested this, the passwords aren't case sensitive, and google[0] and HN[1] says this was known in 2012.. The HN discussion is a little more dismissive of case sensitivity, so I'm wondering if I should be so worried

I spoke to a couple of drivers when I was visiting India in December (in Chennai), and I got nothing but praise. In the bay area I've had mixed experiences. Drivers in the city seem to be interested in a chat. In the south bay I'v

The cleanliness part cannot be helped, but isn't your alternative actually costing you more time? Your workout is probably longer due to the lower intensity, and you still have to use body wipes.
