Oh yeah it’s still going to hallucinate eventually, 100%. My point is mostly you can take it from “absolutely useless” to “situationally useful” if you’re honest about its limitations and abilities. Nothing has convinced me that LLMs will e

LLMs are awful and untrustworthy at math on their own for sure, but I found out you can tell Claude to use bc and suddenly they're not so bad when they have a calculator. It's as smart as me in that respect ;P

Claude does have an exuberant kind of “personality” where it feels like it wants to be really excited and interested about whatever subject. I wouldn’t describe it totally as sycophancy, more like panglossian. My least favorite AI personali

An interesting thing about the “agent” (it’s called Task inside Claude Code) is it starts a completely new Claude chat, with its own context etc. I’ve seen a Task go write its own code in multiple files and then your “main” chat ends up con

FWIW "hispanic" isn't a race on those forms, it's an ethnicity. You can choose any race with it.

I haven't hit a limit yet on the $200 plan, but did hit the limit quite frequently on the $100 plan FWIW. I can't imagine these Pro limits will be very useful except for very light stuff.

It was unironically pretty convenient. You had to manually set up NAT in a VPC for a long time (until they made NAT gateways) and some other early quirks were a pain in the ass. EC2 "classic" still had security groups and it was p

IDK personally I don't think Grand Budapest feels wooden at all. The entire scene where Adrien Brody smashes the Egon Schiele-esque lesbian painting is one of the most hilarious things I've seen in a movie.

I’m not trying to be controversial but this behavior seems to be very hard for a lot of men. I’ve noticed it a lot in my life that guys are far more willing to “circle the wagons” over petty slights, and alienate people over it. Then their

IIRC Parallels can/could do this (on a Mac anyway) but I can’t find the specific feature. You could like run Excel or something and it would be just the native Windows interface window, but on your MacOS desktop.

LLMs work well with any static analysis tool. I frequently instruct Claude to use stuff like “go vet” and “deadcode” when it goes on a tear and writes a bunch of broken trash and declares mission accomplished.

I mean under Marx's definition I can easily envision a "non-capitalist" system where most economic activity is done by solo-entrepreneurs who own their means of production. This doesn't involve any wage labor being utili

There is a definition difference. What Marx defined as capitalism is a pattern of post-feudal production after the industrial revolution. It means the transformation of quantities of surplus value from wage labor, and the qualitative transf
