The power went out because there was a major snow storm across the south, which doesn't happen often. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_13–17,_2021_North_Ame... It affected more than just Texas lol

The mainboard is really great. I’m reminded of the i9 NUC “compute element” and I’m disappointed Intel hasn’t really done anything more innovative in these kinds of form factors. Seems like they could easily standardize a swappable module l

This is one of the worst, inane, repetitive, boring, dumbest bots I have ever experienced. It literally wouldn’t talk about anything but pizza and tacos. Just terrible.

How do you even mitigate sim swapping attacks? I’m getting super paranoid from all the recent news but it seems like you literally can’t do anything about it because the phone companies are so shitty lol

You have to wonder why they didn't just jack into their local instance of the Matrix to eat lunch, while the goop goes in through a food tube or whatever.

You can also use UTM which is a GUI for qemu with HVF turned on already. Pretty useful, I've run everything from Windows 11 to Snow Leopard in it. https://mac.getutm.app

Options trading in particular is really addicting, like gambling. I’ve had periods where I was completely sucked in, looking at charts and news all day. I will admit I’ve had thoughts in the past of “I should just quit my job and do this” w

I think this is because launchd+getty and systemd+agetty are doing something similar in those circumstances? They're both opening pseudo-terminals with the login command. That is to say, opening Terminal.app connects to a 'network

Oh no don't worry they weren't missed. Now I have to spend late Friday logged into Zoom while people awkwardly drink alcohol and talk about their dogs.

If you ever watch a play-through it just keeps getting worse. People always talk about the rings but thats barely scratching the surface of the shitty, broken depths.

Yeah no kidding, when I had a tree planted in my front yard they had to use jackhammers to make the hole deep enough. I had no idea.

The title seems misleading because the boobs aren’t getting bigger, the cover composition has just changed to feature then more prominently? “Modern day covers feature busts that consume more than triple the cover space”

My Dad's work computer had OS/2 Warp on it, and I honestly just thought it was some kind of weird 'business' version of Windows. They only used it to run Windows programs as well, very strange lol

The peaks in popularity are super interesting because they line up exactly with my parents owning a manufactured home. They bought one as newlyweds in the 70s, and then a double-wide in the 90s. These were both on acre sized lots. We lived

God yes, I've seen so many split-brain issues with Rabbit and ActiveMQ (what a baffling pile of crap) over the years. At least you can tell Kafka to block producers if replicas aren't clean.

I'd like to add to the rest of the discussions: you can get a JD from a law school and still end up not being able to practice law if you fail the Bar. Yes, you need a JD to take the Bar exam in most places, but the 'credential&#x
