I did grow up on the east coast, and have, so far, lived my whole life here. I would never describe the summers as "hellish" nor the winters as "ball-shriveling". I thoroughly enjoy the tremendous variety through all th

Literally one of the things I hated the most when I visited California and all I hear about California is the weather (I should say, "San Francisco", not CA, since obviously CA is a pretty big state). I can't imagine what li

I can't seem to be able to log in - seems possibly due to a missing Mandrill API key. Given that Mandrill is apparently now a paid addon to mailchimp, how'd you get around this?

It does state `removable aliens`, which I would assume would not include a legal resident or nonresident alien. I initially read it as applying to all aliens, regardless of status.

IANAL, but this part seems incredibly open-ended - does anyone know if this is standard? Namely, I'm referring to parts 2, 3, 5, and 6, of which 2 and 3 seem to contradict the idea of "innocent until proven guilty", though I

Sometimes it's frustrating to get sites working with it, but it's nice to know I can have such fine grained control over every (I think?) connection each website is making. Sometimes I'm just astonished - some sites are maki

If you know how in a way that actually works, I'm all ears. WSJ seems to rarely, if ever, work for me googling the titles these days.

OT: For what it's worth, the "web" link to do a google search of the article no longer brings up search results that show the whole article.

Edit: At the top since I think it may qualify my comments: I think there's a causation/correlation incongruity in this, the parent, and the grandparent posts. Telomere lengthening can lead to cancer; getting cancer is not necessa

You know, this is a question I frequently ponder. I don't know if I have a good answer. Interestingly, I think coming from a software background, where things are (generally) predictable and orderly, can help establish some of the mos

Went to medical school. It's about as much fun as going to medical school can be, but I'm much happier than I was in software (I think?).

The US, like everyone else in the world, will always be an oil exporter and an oil importer. The grades of oil differ throughout the world, and are used in different industries.

It's worth pointing out that coal is not coming back. Far too much of industry has moved on and converted to natural gas based supply. Not to mention the costs of starting up coal mines and processing again. In the current energy ma

It's a bit pedantic, but most medical schools don't actually require a bachelor's degree. They do, however, require something in the order of 80+ credits worth of classes, at which point you might as well finish the degree
