The city I live in ran a campaign a number of years ago handing out $1000 vouchers to upgrade inefficient wood stoves. It can be a air quality issue, but the major issue is one of efficiency. Modern wood stoves are very efficient - where a

The misuse of the term seems to date back three centuries, and has been abused for literary effect by many notable authors, including F. Scott Fitzgerald, Mark Twain, Jane Austin and Luisa May Alcott. So it seems perfectly acceptable to use

The upgrade path used to be pretty liberal, until last year you could skip two releases and still catch an upgrade. I think I've spent about $1800 total over 11 years: Macromedia MX Studio (2002) > CS3 Web Premium (2007) > CS6 (2012

Was wondering where that went. I used it all the time, but only for the link to the cached version. Good to know it's still available under the green arrow.

Had a similar project based on OData called qwikstant.com, by no means a hit, but still trafficked. It's depressing to have to shutter it.. As I was developing I did notice that the OData DB was always slightly behind and the api forums wer

That's a good point, and one I've struggled with a bit. I'd envisioned it being mobile friendly (android only so far) which places serious constraints on available screen real estate. On my tablet, the existing search filters run up against

Thanks, I wrote the backend in Django - but most of the heavy lifting is javascript. Django more or less is just populated by a cronjob and then caches the results of the Netflix odata API.

Thanks! Yeah, I can see how it looks a little out of place. It's clickable (hides the filter sidebar), but the fact that wasn't obvious is good input..

I did stumble on to Instant Watcher midway through development. It's a great concept - I especially like the aggregation of review information. IW covers the full spectrum of search, recommendations and queue management. Qwikstant is much s

Excellent point - I'd noticed that too, but hadn't gotten around to delaying the transition or alternatively placing it elsewhere. I just wrote it down on the todo list. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm definitely considering some form in independent verification of the Netflix user rating system and was considering a series of icons that would display underneath the program info. The only concern is that I'd

I'd like to clarify one point. That is the Social Security hasn't been pay as you go since a commission headed by Alan Greenspan put forward legislation to deal with the baby boomers in the 80s. Under Reagan, Social Security went from pay-g
