This is amazing. It took awhile to render at the max-zoom level but once the data loaded (and rendered), the level of detail is just astounding. You can see a construction crane and its counterweights imaged recognizably. Sagging power lin

To answer your question, I found this credited in a regurgitated PR from some lazy news aggregator. Their site was 800 words that said next to nothing, crediting the rich PDF. The referenced document offered so much more than the site that

Good question. Wikipedia entry claims 150,000 floodlights but I question the origin of this number. It showed up out of the blue, in a single edit, and none of the cited sources have the said number in them. Two pieces of information that

For what it's worth, the CIA is the only federal agency that keeps their own employee records. Everyone else goes through OPM. They (rightfully) assumed that OPM couldn't keep secrets and that's where we find ourselves today

One of the fondest MSX games I've played when I was a kid were "Cannon Fighter" and "Panic Junction". Though I haven't seen the latter, someone rebuilt the former in Flash: http://www.silvergames.co

MT was fairly clumsy in some ways by comparison to WP, though my use of the word is very questionable. Updating templates was always a pain because we'd want to update a sidebar widget, and it would take hours to have that change refle

Yeah, it's a pickle. Raphael supports limited subset of SVG with VML failover compatibility, but export is limited because you have to support two technologies. Then it gets weirder because RaphaelJS isn't exactly responsive-ready

The RaphaelJS library, which this is built on, doesn't have a built-in SVG exporter (though there is a limited functionality for that, along with SVG export plugins), but in FireFox and Chrome, these two lines will get you the <SVG&

Rather interesting, though, the scope is limited to USA alone. Supposing you make your way out of USA, a good solution for restarting your life is to join the French Foreign Legion. They'll take recruits from 17.5 - 39.5 years old. N
