Well, they are mercenaries after all... I half suspect they picked a difficult to pronounce name so nobody would talk about them.

It's a good strategy. Interestingly Blackwater changed their name to Xe to try and shake off the bad image. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackwater_Worldwide Still a nasty organization, name change or not.

I'm horrified at the amount of people calling him a douche and asshole in his blog comments for asserting his rights. I didn't think such submission to authority had become such an American trait.

This is always how I've done multiplication in my head as well. Just seems natural and pretty easy to do up to 99x99, after which it's too annoying to track.

The overloading of the shi sound in mandarin approaches absurd levels. I've always liked:

The point is that you don't want to try to be like the locals. The locals in developing countries are not healthy and do suffer from poor sanitation (diarrhea alone is responsible for 8% of all deaths in Asia -- WHO stats). You need to be

More specifically you should avoid the following: - Street meat. Unrefrigerated meat spoils very rapidly. Bacteria build up toxins in the meat that don't go away even if you cook it. This can make you very sick and even kill. - Cut fruit

Bad advice. The body doesn't adapt to hepatitis, salmonella, spoiled meat and the like. Don't think the locals are not getting sick and dying either. They are. Diarrhea is one of the leading causes of death in the developing world.

Buy a shaver and do your hair at a #2 once every week or two. It takes 5 minutes to do. Less time than you spend washing and drying your hair by far.

Yes, but for an alarm clock it'd work. You can set custom sounds, etc. You can also schedule up 64 of them and have them recur.

While I don't necessarily disagree with your point, an alarm clock may not be a good example. It looks like you could use scheduled local notifications for that.

You don't understand WIFI. All WIFI devices share the same 2.4/5GHz bandwidth and thus if you have too many devices in one physical location you're screwed.

I haven't looked at it in detail but I assume this is done with javascript so that the site doesn't actually see you or your friends, Facebook just includes a bit based on the site you go to. This not the case?

Agreed, Nambu is way better. Tweetie on OSX is pretty feature poor, all flash and little substance.

While I cannot forgive the Chinese regime for their methods, there is a point here that shouldn't be so quickly downvoted. China has raised 400 Million people out of poverty in the last several decades.

Well, both the USA and China are foreign countries to me and this is an (albeit US dominated) international forum so I'm not swayed by your 'at home' argument. However I am more concerned with what is happening with the US than China even g

Well yes, of course Google is a self-interested corporation whose likely reasons for acting are much more complicated than the public story. All the do no evil stuff is marketing and self delusion by Google'ers. Does this surprise you?

Complete and total nonsense. While the US Government has severe issues it is not by any stretch equivalent to the Chinese Government in its repression of human rights and freedoms and censorship of the Internet.

Well don't let the downvote brigade discourage you from posting here. I'm sure many of us like hearing from an entrepreneur that's made it, even if you do ruffle feathers. Personally I like hearing from people who tell it as they think it
