In my experience 99% of people will turn down the volume or use headphones if you ask nicely. I never in my life was confronted or even assaulted, even by noisy teenagers or grim looking men. Not saying it’s impossible but I would guess it’

Yea I think I’ll write my own static generator that just combines 3 templates for header/body/footer and converts markdown from the body. Should be fun project. I’m tired of the constant update pressure from existing solutions and

And the minimum to file a lawsuit comes out to 100k at standard rates ? Or was it just a random number?

HTML. Unironically have been migrating my static pages (from Nextjs and Eleventy) to plain HTML and love it. Of course depends on your use case if that is feasible.

It doesn’t shut them out though, they can still effect change on smaller scale - for example smaller regional and state governments. They don’t need to sit in the nation wide parliament and add noise. The rule also encourages cooperation a

You don’t have to use Google login though? People building solutions like this that aim for broad adoption have to make certain compromises and this seems OK to me (just talking about offering a social login option, haven’t checked the who

Do you know a better alternative that I can get my elderly parents and non-technical friends to use? I haven’t come across one and from my amateur POV it seems much better than WhatsApp or Telegram.

IMO the 5% rule is pretty good. Otherwise we would have loonies like the Grey Panthers (old people party), the “Spiritual Party”, or the extreme right-wing “Republicans” (AFD is moderate compared to those) being able to vote on laws etc. Of

Data is technically a plural but nobody uses the singular and it’s being used as a singular term often - which is completely fine I think, nobody speaks Latin anyway

Sure but equating Theranos and LLMs seems a bit disingenuous. Theranos was an outright scam that never produced any results, whereas LMMs might not have (yet?) lived up to all the marketing promises (you might call them slogans?) they made,

Coca-Cola advertises itself as a “happiness machine” as something that brings people together, builds communities, creates love and friendship. The latest slogan i can remember is “open happiness”. I like fizzy sugar drinks as much as the n

I personally don’t have that problem. I can find new good music easily on soundcloud/bandcamp/youtube - much more than I have time to consume. Maybe this 60x absolute slop thing is a problem if you use services like Spotify - whic

It would make every marketing department and basically every startup founder conmen too. While I don’t completely disagree with that framing it’s not really helpful.

This has already been the case way before AI was a thing. As a new artist you have to compete against 60+ years of music history - much of it really good music too.

fwiw modern recipe sites are awful - you have to scroll down literal minutes until you get to the recipe. LLMs give you the answer you want in seconds. I’m certainly no LLM enthusiast but pretending they are useless won’t make the issues wi

Positing that AI generated code is always bad and buggy is delusional. I have dozens of little programs and websites that are AI generated and do their job perfectly.

People who won’t invest anything and just want to make a quick buck won’t be successful with AI generated content/music. You still need to invest significant time and effort to make it work.

The market was already flooded 20 years ago. Your biggest competition as musician is not AI or any new music it’s the music released in the last 50 years. I predict that slop won’t significantly change the game - which was already rigged ag
