Exactly! The majority of drone enthusiasts are insufferable, repeating the old mantra, "FAA allows to do what we like". I can't wait for some of these cases to hit the supreme court where they can put a stop to applying laws

Yeah, yeah, this is what every single drone hobbyist parrots on about when asked this question. However, when was the last time someone was actually charged and convicted (criminal not civil) for shooting down a drone flying over their prop

Why not just grab a hymnal and go through that? Edit: Happy to be downvoted, but at least explain why you disagree with this.

Honestly, these studies don't make any sense. Australia in the top 10? Sure, if you already own a house, but if you're renting there's no way your quality of life would be better than say a mechanic owning 3 acres with a 3000

It's not the AI doing math wrong as a lot of people are commenting. It's the way it's parsing your sentence. When it reads 'the present value of $100' it thinks that today's value of the investment is $100, and

Agreed. As someone with a PhD in pure math this is a pretty bad article, attempts to be informal, but then presents a bunch of theorem/defns. Not sure who his intended audience was here. Nicer approach would maybe try and approach the

Sigh.... I'm not sure what the audience for this book is. Anyone looking to learn the math behind Machine Learning would be much better served learning just what they need and expand their horizon as the need arises. I'm not sure

If you read to the end of the article he actually lists the pros/cons where this is mentioned. That aside, the point of the article is maybe not so much using C++ regex but a technique to integrate C++ code into C code.

It would be nice if they described Euclid's argument in its original geometric form rather than converting it back to post 1700 algebra notation.

It's not immediately clear (though I'm sure it is true) from reading the article that F(\pi) + F(0) != 0 (assuming \pi = \frac{a}{b}). Given that F(x) is an alternating series, maybe F(\pi) = F(0) = 0. (again I'm sure this is

I'm confused why are they trying to implement name mangling in C? Are they trying to use the C++ compiler to implement the RAII assembly code and then link that back into C? Wouldn't a smarter approach be to do a C version of what

It's funny one of the guys Simon's hired from IBM Watson to help him make the breakthrough, Peter Brown, was an avid fitness nut. Not sure the smoking and lack of exercise was the reason for his success! I think the main story beh

The crazy thing with smoking is that now organized crime have taken over selling cigarettes causing more crime. God forbid they actually help people by doing things like providing affordable living accommodation! Though I think Australians

Speaking from experience working at both FAANG and non-FAANG, the worst part about FAANG is that compared to small-mid sized companies the work just isn't that interesting.

I think we're moving back towards a 90s version of the web again. No search, just a list of hand curated sites of people who's opinions we trust. The only thing is now these will be likes specs of gold drowning in a sea of shit.
